Originally a town before later becoming a ski destination, Morzine has retained its traditional, Savoyarde charm and character. Straddling the picturesque River Dranse, traditional barns, and alpine chalets, noticeable by their slate roofs, nestle on the Valley floor, at the foot of stunning, tree-lined descents. Skiers return direct into town, where a combination of bars and restaurants combine with pavement cafés and local craft shops creating the perfect alpine ambience.
Morzine has a raft of facilities for skiers and non-skiers alike: 2 cinemas, an indoor and outdoor ice-rink, 3 supermarkets and a weekly market offering local specialities.
There are a host of additional activities to experience, from horse-drawn carriage rides, dog-sledding, parapenting, snow-mobiling, cross country skiing to just discovering the serenity of the mountains on snow-shoes. Morzine really does have something for everyone.
